conducts its AIDS awareness activity for children in two ways:
1 – all 1250 children in the Child Inn, Ganga, the Temporary Homes, plus those served by the School on Wheels and Integrated Program for Street Children receive education about HIV/AIDS. 2 – a Targeted Intervention Program educates 500 additional street and slum children in Jaipur who are considered to be at special risk. In addition to AIDS awareness amongst children, I-India is involved in the national Kavach project to educate and test truck drivers and truck-stop prostitutes across India. The project is funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through TCI (Transport Corporation of India). (PHASED OUT) |
